Established on the shore of Golden Horn in 1960 by the Bayrak Family, ÇEKSAN SHIPYARD engaged in construction of low-tonnage ships and the provision of repair and maintenance services for wooden ships.  Reorganizing itself in 1979, the company was Incorporated and expanded its scope of activities to the construction of new ships, repair, maintenance and contracting. ÇEKSAN Inc. moved to its present location in Tuzla of Istanbul in 1986; after establishing its present Shipyard, it started to carry out activities under its scope of business.
