The Chowgule & Company Private Limited. Shipbuilding Division has created waves on developing the waterways economy. From as early as 1951, as builders, operators and repairers of large river fleets, the company has acquired a fund of expertise which has given them the credit of constructing fleets of different types of vessels. Different types of ships built at the company’s shipyard are plying in the waterways proudly. With the experience and expertise to build a gamut of maritime vessels, ranging from ore-carrying barges, grab and suction dredgers and deep-sea fishing trawlers to offshore drilling rigs, tugs, pontoons, launches, hopper barges and coastal vessels, the yard has pioneered full construction of the ocean going vessels in the private sector in Goa.

Cochin Shipyard was incorporated in the year 1972 as a fully owned Government of India company. In the last three decades the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Indian Shipbuilding & Shiprepair industry. This yard can build and repair the largest vessels in India. It can build ships upto 1,10,000 DWT and repair ships upto 1,25,000 DWT.

The Company came into being in 1884 as a small factory on the Eastern Bank of the river Hooghly. It was renamed Garden Reach Workshop in 1916, and was incorporated as a Company under the Indian Companies Act of 1913 with effect from 26th February 1934 (Registration No. 7891 of 1933-34). The company was taken over by the Government of India on 1st April, 1960.

Mazagon Dock Limited is the India’s premier shipyard constructing warships as well as offshore platforms. Main activities are ship building, ship repairs and fabrication of offshore structures with facilities situated at Mumbai and Nhava.  We have the capability to build warships, submarines, merchant ships upto 30,000 DWT and fabrication of well head platforms, process and production platforms and jack up rigs.

GSL has three large self supporting all weather building bays with a working floor area over 10,000 sq.m. With a maximum length of 200 m, an inside width of 25 m. and craneage capacity of upto 40 tonnes, these bays are fully equipped for construction, modernisation and repair of all types of naval crafts and medium sized commercial vessels.

ABG Shipyard Ltd., the flagship company of ABG group was incorporated in the year 1985 as Magdalla Shipyard Pvt. Ltd. with the main objects of carrying Shipbuilding and Ship Repair business. In a span of 15 years from the year 1991, the company has achieved the status of the largest private sector shipbuilding yard in India with satisfied customer base all around the world. The registered office and the yard are situated at Surat in the state of Gujarat and the corporate office is in Mumbai.

Hindustan Shipyard Ltd is located in the picturesque port city of Visakhapatnam on the East coast of India. The shipyard is easily accessible by direct air, sea, rail and road connections from India and Abroad. The foundation stone of the shipyard was laid on June 22, 1941 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad who later became the first President of India. Today, HSL is a fully owned Government of India Undertaking under the Administrative control of the Ministry of Shipping, Road and Highways.

Colombo Dockyard Limited (CDL) enjoys an enviable reputation as one of South East Asia's leading ship repairers and builders. The port of Colombo in sun-drenched Sri Lanka is home to CDL. The ability to conduct business from within the port of Colombo gives CDL a strategic advantage and has proven to be a boon to ship owners.

Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited ( KSEW ) is the only Heavy Engineering establishment of the country that is catering for its Ship Building, Ship Repairing and Heavy/General Engineering requirements. It has played a historical role in transferring of technologies and broadening the industrial base of the country.

KSY is about 50 years old. The construction works of KSY started in 1954 under supervision of the East Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (EPIDC) with the technical support of M/s. Stulcken Sohn, West Germany provided the design for the construction of the yard facilities. After completion of works, It was commissioned on 27th November 1957, with the objective to build and repair ships of various clients, for defense, coast guard, oil company, ports, BIWTC etc and manufacture engineering parts to support other industries.
