Who should attend:

• Security Internal Auditors

• CSO’s & SSO’s

• Superintendents

• Company’s personnel / Ship’s Officers who have been or are likely to be appointed as Security Internal Auditors

Objectives:

The aim of this training programme is to provide a ship operating company security internal auditor(s) with the knowledge and skills to carry out his/her responsibilities and duties in accordance with the relevant requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Code and established best practices for auditing. Furthermore, to provide shore or shipboard personnel with feedback on the experience gained on the implementation of Security Plans and enhance understanding through practical excursuses. In particular, upon completion of the course, the delegate will be able to:

• Understand the requirements for performance of Security Internal Audit for each of the ships under responsibility,

• Direct the conduct of Ship Security Internal Audits,

• Understand the requirements for record keeping,

• Understand and practice auditing techniques,

• Identify, document and review corrective and preventive actions ,

• Direct and motivate company personnel engaged in security-related activities.
